CHARLESTOWN TOWNSHIP
|
On April 28, 1993, the Charlestown Township Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on the Charlestown Oaks plan at the Charlestown Elementary School, Charlestown Road, Devault. This was a joint meeting with the Supervisors of East Whiteland due to the impact this land development will have on their Township.
Present: | John C. Martin, Jr., Vice Chairman; Vincent G. Kling, Sr., Member; John D. Snyder, Esq.; Surender S. Kohli, P.E.; Ruth W. Buckwalter, Secretary. Representing East Whiteland: Florence D. Hunt, Member; Glenn H. Cockerham, Vice Chairman; David O. Meachen, Secretary; Donald Reimenschneider, Manager; those on the attached list of attendees |
The Vice Chairman opened the meeting at 8:08 pm. Mr. Martin noted that Irene W. Ewald, Chairman, was representing Charlestown at a special meeting in Schuylkill Township having to do with the Liberty House project. The forum of the meeting was to hear the Applicant first, then Charlestown’s Supervisors would have an opportunity to question the Applicant followed by East Whiteland’s Supervisors and then the public. Mr. Martin turned the hearing over to Mr. Snyder. Mr. Snyder marked as exhibits the 4 advertisements for this hearing in two local papers as well as the post card mailing sent to Charlestown residents. At this time, Mr. Cockerham noted for the record that a letter had been sent out to all residents of Aston Woods notifying them of this meeting tonight. The meeting was then turned over to John Good, Esq., attorney for the Applicant. A Court Recorder took the minutes of the hearing which covered the following items: a history of the plan, plan submissions, aerial view of the location, schematic plan of site in 1979, revisions, buffer zones, Interim Order plan, storm water management, parking areas, staging plan showing the three stages of development and redesigning of Yellow Springs Road. There was very little time remaining for questions, so a continued hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 8:00 pm at the Charlestown Elementary School.
The Vice Chairman adjourned the meeting - 11:00 pm.
