Charlestown Township Board of Supervisors Business Meeting Minutes of October 22, 2012

A business meeting was held October 22, 2012 at the Township Office, 4030 Whitehorse Road, Devault, PA. Frank A. Piliero, Chairman, Michael J. Rodgers, Vice Chairman, Kevin R. Kuhn, Hugh D. Willig, Fire Marshal Tim Hubbard and Linda Csete, Township Manager were present along with East Whiteland Township supervisor Bill Holmes, East Whiteland Manager Terry Woodman, and Gary Sheridan, Tommy Cockerham and Ken Battin from the East Whiteland Volunteer Fire Company.

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M.

New Busines

East Whiteland Township Request for Contribution Toward Fire Company Support

East Whiteland Township (EWT) Supervisor Bill Holmes began the discussion on his Township’s request for additional support from Charlestown Township to help cover their expenses for providing paid firefighters to the East Whiteland Volunteer Fire Company (EWVFC), which services a portion of Charlestown.

Mr. Holmes said he requested the calculation of an hourly rate from EWT Manager Terry Woodman, which was provided to Charlestown in an email dated 10/19/12 and incorporated as a part of the minutes. She provided a rate of $181.00 per hour. Charlestown Township will review their request and provide a response.

Action items include:

Csete – Request line item breakdown of the EWT costs from Ms. Woodman

Csete – Ask Pres. Sheridan what the EWVFC receives from EWT in fire relief funds

Hubbard – Obtain East Goshen hourly rate

Willig – Obtain hourly rate from Kimberton Fire Co.
