Old Business
- A non-functional outlet is near the restrooms. It will be added to the “To Do” List.
- The trash is overflowing at the Park. Trash cans are missing or not in the usual places. Ms. Fox has quotes for the new trash receptacles.
- Dog refuse bags are at the post but there is no basket for the used bags. They are piling up at the base of the stations.
- The restrooms will be closed from May 16th through May 30th for needed repairs. A handicapped accessible portable unit
has been placed at Parking Lot A adjacent to Township Line Road and pavilions #1 and #4.
- Ms. Fox will check on the impact to the concert series dates vs. the closed restrooms.
New Business
- Ms. Fox is looking to Mr. Martin, from the Charlestown Historical Society, for help. The P&R is partnering with the society for the Memorial
Day Commemorative Cemetery Ceremony and she is not getting responses from his contacts. There has been no ceremony since the pandemic and Ms.
Fox wants to avoid canceling this year.
- The concert series dates need approval, five bands are on hold. The information is ready for release to the public.
- The 5K Color Run received favorable reactions from Ms. Robinson and Ms. Fox. Miss Thornburn, from the Phoenixville Area High School, wants
to host this cancer awareness cause for the Jax Strong Foundation (see imstrong.us for more information). Ms. Weindorfer spoke about helping
families since 2021. Miss Thornburn suggested using the Township’s 5K course and restroom. The run is planned for September. Ms. Fox will connect
with them and a date will be set. There is also funding available for underprivileged kids wanting to play youth sports. She asked the Board
to let the PMYC, PASC, and other Township youth sports groups know.
- Ms. Fox stated that she and her husband have submitted a request to be on the Parks and Recreation Board.
- Ms. Kyla McFadden of the Red Cross was in attendance. Ms. McFadden would like to offer CPR classes and a martial arts class called ASCAB Capoeira,
within the Township, at the Park, or at Charlestown Day.
