The board discussed having the fields mowed in June and July. There were no concerns from the board members, Mount will forward the request to the township manager.
Kane provided an update to the board regarding the Wildflower Walk held on the Pickering Dam Trail. There was a strong attendance, estimated at 20 - 30 people. Many of the wildflowers bloomed in the previous month, but there were still many things to see.
Kane outlined the focus of the Pickering Dam Trail day. There is a minor amount of trash to pickup, fallen trees that need to be cleared, there will be an attempt to recover and relocate the washed away foot bridges, and the manual removal of invasive plants.
Barbera reported that they have extra post and rail fencing that can be used for fencing repairs at Charlestown Park.
Robinson informed the board that one of the Children’s Story storyboards has been vandalized and is in the water at Charlestown Park.

Robinson updated the board on Singh’s project proposal presented at April’s meeting. Robinson and Singh met at Charlestown Park to review the project scope. The gazebo is being further considered and it will be in the style of an open pavilion rather than a traditional fenced gazebo.
Morgan Duffy, a local girl scout in Girl Scout Troop 4321, presented a proposal for a silver award project. The proposal details building a Little Free Library in Charlestown Park. The Little Free Library would be constructed from a recycled kitchen cabinet with the addition of a sloped roof. It would be constructed near pavilion 3, between the two benches that face the play area.
Barbera identified concerns around weather and water reaching the books. Duffy has considered this and plans to use exterior paint, sealant on the cabinet and some waterproofing on the door.
Kane inquired if the Little Free Library would be registered. Duffy explained that they can be registered, but it is not part of this project’s scope. Additionally, Kane suggested decorating the library in Charlestown colors.
Barbera asked about the number and types of books that will be included in the library. Duffy highlighted the books will be donated and target a range of ages starting at youth.
Mount asked if there was a required timeline for the project. The final report needs to be completed by September 30th.
Robinson moved to have the proposal be presented to the Supervisors, and Barbera seconded. Mount called for discussion and there being none called the vote. All were in favor.
