Rules & Regulations
Charlestown Township welcomes you to Brightside Farm and hopes that you enjoy your visit. We ask that visitors observe the following rules pursuant to Township Ordinance #148-2008:
- The Farm is open from Dawn to Dusk.
- Dogs and/or domestic animals must be kept on a leash no longer than 8 feet.
- Pet owners must pick up pet waste.
- Pets are not permitted in any areas under cultivation or in hayfields.
- Walkers, joggers and horseback riders are permitted on the designated trails only. They are not permitted in the areas under cultivation or in hayfields.
- Only annual subscribers and their guests are permitted in the Community Garden area.
- The Farmhouse is a Private Residence. The house, surrounding yard, and farm buildings are not open to the public.
- Group Functions must make prior arrangements for approval by the Township.
- Removal of any township property is prohibited.
- All fireworks are prohibited except by permit from the Fire Marshal.
- Firearms, slingshots, pellet guns, air rifles, archery equipment, explosives or other dangerous materials are prohibited.
- No Hunting or Trapping
- No Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, ATVs or other motorized vehicles on farm internal cart roads, the trails or the farm fields, except for farm personnel.
- Parking permitted in designated areas only, which are located along both sides of the main driveway away from the farm buildings.
- Keep all vehicles on roadways or designated parking areas.
- Overnight parking is prohibited.
- Camping, barbecues, cookouts, grilling and open fires are prohibited except by special permit from the Fire Marshal.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
- Littering is prohibited, and all refuse shall be placed in trash receptacles or removed by the person(s) generating the refuse.
- Vandalism, including defacing or damaging property, disturbing wildlife and destroying/removing vegetation is prohibited.
- Disorderly conduct, including the use of indecent language or excessive noise, is prohibited.
